Tragedy at the Randall Residence

When we first moved here, I kept telling Bryan he needed to call the Kidney Foundation and get rid of this unsightly old van that was sitting in our yard. It was a leftover from the previous owners of the mortuary. I bugged him about it for a while, but he never got to it. Then, Brady and Ellie discovered the "old van." They got a big, scary lecture about the dangers of playing in it without leaving windows and doors open, so they were very good about always keeping them open. They played in it all the time. They went to Grandma's, to Mexico, England, and South America, among other places.
A few weeks ago, Bryan remembered to call the Kidney Foundation. It somehow slipped that a tow truck was coming for the van. Brady cried for nearly an hour and wondered, "How can we ever find anything as fun as the old van?" Finally, he was reconciled to the loss and kept reminding me that we should clean it out and take a picture so that he could always remember it.
The tow truck came a few days ago and we enjoyed watching them load up the van and take it away. It will be sorely missed, but it's nice to have one ugly thing in our yard gone! There are many more still to be taken care of, but that's the work of another day!

  2. Where will Ellie relieve herself now that it is gone? Very sad. I loved playing in Dad's old, non-running truck (that is until it rolled down and smashed into the North's house). Poor kiddies!
