Happy Birthday to Ellie

Ellie's special day began with a butterfly shaped pancake, a candle, and a birthday song. She was smiling, excited, and happy, and, as usual, woke up with a "wildy wig." Her hair is something else!

She got to open one present after breakfast, and it was her new "dollie," which she promptly named Bonnie. She carried her around all day, except when the dollie was sleeping or being ornery, then she had to be put in bed.

We had most of our grandmas and grandpas come for dinner, which we really appreciated since it was a long drive. Grandma and Grandpa Lillywhite came from St. George and Grandma and Grandpa Randall and Grandma Burbank came from West Jordan/Midvale. We were happy to see them.

We had Ellie's favorite foods for dinner: chicken nuggets and noodles with alfredo sauce. We made salad, too, just to be semi-healthy.

After dinner was the important Randall Family Tradition: the cake. Ellie has been talking about her cake for months. She has been wanting a carousel cake. Bryan and I were working on it for about three hours last night. It turned out really cute, we think, and Ellie was excited about it.

We opened presents and ate cake. Ellie got books, doll clothes, a slip and slide, a new dress, and princess paraphernalia. She was thrilled and grateful. In her prayers this evening she mentioned thank you and presents several times.

What a cute girl. We are sure grateful that she is our Ellie Girl. We love her tons. She has such cute smiles, such nice hugs and kisses, and such cute, funny things that she does to keep us laughing and smiling. She's a keeper, for sure!

  3. You are right: Ellie is a cutie! Your cake is a work of art. Did she get the doll's name from that cute book--"This is my house and I am the mommy. My children are Annabell, Betsy, and Bonny"? Sounds like a fun birthday!
