November 2009 Adventures

November was great because we finally took some vacation time. We went to St. George for Thanksgiving and really enjoyed the warm weather. We loved the great food, fabulous company, and good times. We went hiking and watched our crazy uncles, Lance, Moss, and Supe do some rock climbing along with our good buddy, J.J. (a.k.a. Uncle J.J.). The red rocks in Snow Canyon were great places to explore with our fun cousins, Eden and Noah.

All that warm weather was quite the contrast to our Fillmore home. At home we had fun in the snow and stringing beads for Grandma Randall's Christmas tree.

We also had fun at another book party (I forgot the camera, unfortunately). We read several of the Little House books and had a little house party in the VFA building because it was made of logs. We churned butter, strung bead necklaces, made candles, and colored paper dolls. Then we ate cornbread and butter. It was a lot of fun.

Another fun activity was trying to figure out how big Goliath was. Brady and Ellie were always saying that such and such thing was "as big as Goliath." We got out some chalk, a measuring tape, and the Bible (and Bible Dictionary), and made two measurements of Goliath (depending on how big you say a cubit is). Then we traced Brady, Ellie, Lou, and Bryan so we could see how we compared. Finally, we measured one of our chalk Goliaths and then help it up to the house so we could see how he compared to the building. Wow! Big guy!

  2. Soooo many cute pictures! Cave bears and cave cousins...too cute! Thanksgiving was such fun, eh? The Goliath project sounds cool. Playing in leaves rather than snow--always a good trade. Would you mind sending me the pictures of Noah's first repel? I didn't get any of those. :)
