Freezer Burned

Bryan has a sneaky way of getting ice cream into the house without letting the kids know.  He comes home from work and comes in through the garage, dropping the ice cream in the chest freezer so they don't see it.  That way, he only has to share with me.
Well, we had a box about half gone the other day.  It had migrated to the refrigerator freezer, unnoticed by the children.  Then, they went to get something out of the freezer and spotted it.  Ellie was sure that it had been in there a long time and was probably freezer burned.  Being the helpful and proactive little person that she is, she took the initiative and threw it away.
This morning, Bryan saw the box in the trash and thought that I had given the kids some of the contraband for a snack.  He asked them, "How was your ice cream?"  They replied that they hadn't had any ice cream, after all, it was freezer burned.  It took him a while, but then he realized what had happened.  A half eaten box of perfectly good ice cream was thrown away!  I still hear him muttering about freezer burn every time he passes the garbage can!  Sweet Ellie!
